Hot, sweaty, and uber-pissed.

I managed to lose my keys on the stairs outside. A neighbor swiped them, and she called the leasing office to tell them that she found my keys, and promised them that she would turn the keys in to the office. She even called twice. Guess what. She never did. I was uber-pissed as I have to leave at 6 am in the morning for a six hours drive to Dallas. Fuck fuck fuck fuckity. So I wait around all day and checking and re checking in with the office to see if my keys has been returned. Nope, they have not returned and the office closed. So I made a sign to put on my front door as I am deaf and cannot hear the knock without my cochlear implant coil on. It says "dear neighbor who have my keys, please write down your apartment number and your name so that I can come get my keys from you. Thank you." And so far, there have been no response. I've been asking people all damn day long if they have my keys as the office said that they don't fucking know the name of the fucking bitch who has my keys nor her phone number. Great way to manage an apartment complex. I better get my keys before midnight tonight or I'm gonna lose my shit. I have a vacation to go on, and if it is ruined I will be so mad that everyone will be afraid to come near me.

EDIT: She finally came back around like 10 pm and left her name and apartment number on my sign, and I ran to her apartment and got my precious keys back. I'm ready to get the hell out of here now! It is 5 am!

Vacations and fun

This Saturday we MIGHT go to Schlitterbahn park, depending on things. And then next week I and my fiance are going out of town, we are going up to Dallas, a 6-hour drive to stay in the Hilton and spend 5 days there for QuakeCon. This is a much needed vacation especially for me. Granny will be house sitting and cat sitting for me. No assholes better rob my apartment or I will find them and rip them new assholes.

I have a birthday coming up late this month. I wonder what I will get? I hope it's something I would really like. I would want to hope for a laptop but we are too poor for another laptop. Yes, I know, that's because we spent the money for hotel room and stuff at the Hilton and QuakeCon. Plus, my fiance went to Georgia for a week and he just got back last Sunday. We'll just probably have a party and cake instead. Which I don't mind. But I would LOVE an Ice Cream Cake from Dairy Queen. That's my favorite kind of cake!

That's all I got to say for now.

Swimming

Yesterday I and my fiance went to lunch at Taco Bell/KFC (they are side-by-side in one building). I had a Gordita taco with beans instead of meat and with mild hot sauce on it, and a large Dr. Pepper. My fiance had chicken and soda and I don't know what else. After that, we went swimming for a few hours at the community pool. I didn't spend much time in the water. It was really hot outside, but I am glad I didn't get a sunburn. I had my fiance put SPF 45 sunblock on my body, and then I put some SPF 50 on my face, because my face is more sensitive than the rest of my body. We hung out at the pool for about 3 hours and then we decided to go grab dinner and so we went to Subway for mine and then to Jack-Off In The Box for his dinner. We went to his house and hung out together, him playing his games and both him and me watching cable TV together. I came home around 11 pm and shortly after that I went to bed. Not much is happening lately. I think we are going to his church's festival this upcoming Sunday. And then my fiance has his birthday next week on Wednesday. Then I see my counselor next Friday, and then Saturday we are going to "Deaf Day" at Fiesta Six Flags all day. Should be loads of fun, especially the big Wave Pool.

June 16th will mark the one year since one of my dear friends from my hometown passed away. He had so many medical problems growing up, and all the medical problems contributed stress to his heart and it gave out and stopped beating, and he couldn't be revived. He was about to marry his girlfriend (another friend of mine, we attended high school together) during the summer, and they were expecting a baby boy early in the fall. He never got to meet his son, and his son will never get to know his father. This is sad. I may send a sympathy card to his mother and possibly call and talk to his girlfriend on videophone as well, to see how she is holding up, and to see how the baby is doing.

June 28th also marks the 20 years since my dear mother passed away in 1990. I still think about her each single day. I think about her when I get up in the morning, and when I go to bed at night, and also sometime during the day for any reason (seeing something that reminds me of her or whatever). I still miss her and always will miss her, even though I am nearly 30 years old. I was almost 10 when she passed away. She was the best mother I have ever had. I am grateful for the 10 years I had with her. A mother's love beats everything else. I want nothing but my mother's love. I have many wonderful memories of her. I have many, many pictures of her from her childhood to just before she passed away. I have a lock of her hair. Stuff like that. She may have been only a teenager when she had me (at 16) but she did give me the best care ever. She worked so hard to make sure I was healthy, to make sure I got my surgeries so that I wouldn't have to be in crutches or leg braces or whatever. She made damn sure that I didn't die in my sleep when I had pneumonia and when I had bronchitis. She would take me to the ER whenever it was necessary. I still remember the trips to the Children's hospital ER and the breathing treatments I had to do for my pneumonia and the bronchitis, and the medications I had to take. She took such good care of me. She took very good care of my sister, too. I remember the day my mom gave birth to my sister. I was so excited to have a sister after being an only child for 5 years. Now my sister looks just like my mother, the spitting image of my mother. I do wish I looked like her, too. My sister is so beautiful, just like my mom. Mom was very protective of us. If something bad happened to one of us, she was all over it like white on rice. She took very good care of us no matter what kind of problems she had herself. She pushed through her problems so that she could be the best mama to us. I have always been proud of her no matter what.

I guess that's all I have to say for now.

My fiance's Sunshine Cottage presentation on Thursday

On Thursday we went to Sunshine Cottage (his old oral deaf school from when he was a little kid) and he gave a presentation on how he has been doing since he graduated from the school and how his life has been so far. He spoke about what schools he went to growing up, what high school he graduated from, and colleges he has gone to and graduated from, the clubs and organizations he is now involved in and the jobs he has worked and volunteered at. There were pictures that he included from childhood to adulthood, from at schools, organizations, jobs, and the like. I helped a bit with his power point presentation. And we had pizzas from Dave's Pizza, salads, candy, lemonade, tea. There was also awards and scholarships given out to the children who had gone to and graduated from Sunshine Cottage and gone to middle and high schools and then graduated from their high schools. Three teenagers got scholarships to any colleges in this city (we have so many universities and colleges here in San Antonio just alone!) and they chose to go to St. Philips College. A few middle schoolers got awards for different things. Overall it was a good event at Sunshine Cottage.

Afterward we spent time catching up with some of my fiance's old teachers and then when we were exiting the school we saw a huge ass poisonous centipede and we had to get some guys to go kill it before it harmed anyone. It was over 3 inches huge and really thick. It was the most grossest and scary looking thing I have ever seen. *shudders*.

After that we went home but on the way home my stomach began really hurting and I had my fiance stop at a gas station so I could use the bathroom...I think the pizza did not agree with my stomach. Ick. Then we went home and I chilled out and then went to bed.

First blog!

This blog is going to be about anything and everything I have experienced in my life thus far.

For now:

I am a Deaf 29 years old girl with a cochlear implant in my left ear, implanted and activated October 11th and October 16th, respectively.

I also have Hip Dysplasia as well as 2 injured discs in my lower back too. I just had surgery to fix my left hip that had a torn labrum, bruises, and the hip ball needing some shaving as it wasn't round enough, on March 9, 2010 and my hip feels so much better now, finally. Now all I need is surgery on my back to fix my discs and possibly my upper back where I also have pain in that area as well.

I am engaged to a wonderful guy, we have been together for 4 years and counting, and I have 3 cats as well.

I live in a small apartment in south Texas. The area I live in isn't very good. It was nice when I first moved here in 2006 but since then the neighborhood has gone to hell.

I plan to go back to school to become a RN nurse after I have healed from my final surgery. Hopefully by fall or spring. I would like to work with sick children, as I have a loving and compassionate heart.

I do the best I can regardless of my Deafness and my hip and back issues. I know my limits, but am not afraid to try to push my limits at times, because sometimes the fun is definitely worth it.

We have no children at this time, as we aren't ready yet. I would like to have two kids of our own and then adopt two Deaf kids as well. I grew up in foster care and it was tough being Deaf growing up in foster care and I do not want the other deaf children in foster care to have to experience that. Foster care is harder when you are deaf, especially when you've been thrown into a children's home and no one knows sign and there is no communication. That's what happened to me and it caused so many communication barriers and I was very lonely. I still have issues stemming from the children's home.

That is all for now. Feel free to ask questions. :)

P.S. If you have difficulty reading this post due to the rainbow colors, please let me know. I will be more than happy to change the color fonts. ;)
